Genetics and cultivars
Portfolio strategy, selection criteria, phenotype selection and terpene objectives. The ceiling for quality and yield is set here.
Cannabis Cultivation Science & Technical Advisory
Specialist cultivation expertise for professional Anbauvereinigungen: genetics, phenotype selection, terpene profiles, facility engineering and the analysis of your own cultivation data. We analyse, plan and train. Your team cultivates.
Positioning
Professional indoor cultivation is a controlled-environment discipline: genetics, climate control, water and nutrition, plant health, instrumentation, and the interpretation of what the facility is actually doing. Anyone responsible for all of it at once is necessarily working below their own standard in some of it.
We bring that expertise to the people who cultivate. Our work starts at cultivar strategy and ends at post-harvest, and at every point it is tied to measurable criteria rather than to experience nobody can verify.
Capabilities
Each is covered by specialists with hands-on cultivation practice rather than by generalists.
01
Portfolio strategy, selection criteria, phenotype selection and terpene objectives. The ceiling for quality and yield is set here.
02
Room layout, lighting, climate control, VPD, airflow, irrigation, fertigation and sensing treated as one connected system.
03
Preventive crop management, risk reduction, harvest timing, drying, and preservation of aromatic profiles through to distribution.
04
KPIs, batch comparison, interpretation of laboratory results, root-cause analysis and verifiable improvement across cycles.
Genetics and cultivar strategy
A cultivar portfolio is a strategic decision with effects over several years, not a collection of whatever was available. We define target profiles with you and derive selection, propagation and evaluation from them.

Cultivation systems
Rooms are routinely specified for a canopy whose moisture load the equipment cannot remove. We check lighting, cooling, dehumidification, airflow and irrigation together, against your actual cultivation plan.

Hands-on experience
Malta
Regulated environment
Active cultivation
Our technical know-how is informed in part by the hands-on experience of professionals working with The Roots Club in Malta, with a particular focus on genetics, product quality, distinctive terpene profiles and the continuous optimisation of professional cultivation environments.
Malta has regulated cannabis associations for several years. Cultivation practice has developed there under licence conditions, facing the same practical questions German associations face: cultivar choice under volume limits, consistency across cycles, environmental control in a warm climate, and quality preservation after harvest.
The Roots Club is an independent association within the regulated Maltese environment. The club does not itself provide consulting services under our engagements and does not appear before our clients.
More about usOngoing advisory
Larger associations retain us continuously rather than calling only when something breaks. Recurring reviews, data sessions and written reports keep the facility on course before a cycle is lost.
Disciplines
Depending on the question you work with one discipline or with several. Not one generalist covering all four at once.
Cultivar strategy, propagation, phenotype selection and crop management across the full cycle.
Lighting, cooling and dehumidification capacity, airflow, irrigation, fertigation and sensing.
Preventive strategy, risk reduction, harvest timing, and drying, curing and storage.
KPIs, batch comparison, interpretation of laboratory results and root-cause analysis.
Method
01
We look at the facility, go through the existing records and speak to the people who actually work in the rooms. If we are not the right specialists for your question, we say so that day.
02
Environmental and irrigation data across a full cycle, energy draw, harvest results and, where available, laboratory data. Assessed against defined KPIs rather than against received wisdom.
03
A written finding with prioritised measures. Each carries an expected effect, an effort estimate and the consequence of leaving it as it is.
04
Implementation with your team: training, SOPs and follow-up reviews, until the procedure runs without us.
A few sentences about the facility and the current problem are enough for a first assessment of whether and how we can help.
